The Voice of your Brother’s Blood is Crying to Me….

The Bible is filled will all sorts of interesting scientific information. In fact, in many ways, the science world is only now catching up with what the Bible has stated for Millennium. Take for example:

Genesis chapter four. After the sinful rebellion of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, their two sons (probably young men, at this time) offer sacrifices to God. Long story short, Cain- the older of the two kills his brother Abel because of pride.

Then God confronts Cain about the murder… and we are told in Genesis 4:10… He (God) said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground.”

The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground… The idea of blood crying out to God from the ground is later repeated in the Bible. In Numbers 35:29-34 it describes how the blood of unpunished murderers defiles the land.

Now, this is very interesting to me, indeed, this phrase… blood cries out… because we now know that blood literally cries out… I quote from Science News, dated July 2, 2013… “New research reveals that when red blood cells are hit with laser light, they produce high frequency sound waves that contain a great deal of information. Similar to the way one can hear the voices of different people and identify who they are, investigators could analyze the sound waves produced by red blood cells and recognize their shape and size. The information may aid in the development of simple tests for blood-related diseases.” Very cool how God has provided these insights into the human body.

So, the blood of Abel truly spoke, and it spoke of judgment against Cain.

But, there is another Who’s blood was poured out. The blood of Jesus… on the road to and at the cross… which also speaks, but of better things, of grace and of sin having been judged, for we read in Hebrews 12:24… and to Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. I believe that if we could put a laser to the blood of Jesus, it would cry out “forgive them Father!”  Literally.

And although we can not put a laser to His blood… we can still receive that forgiveness and grace… if we will simply put our trust and faith in His finished work on the cross. Amen.
